index shows the lifespan of most of the poets on our website who lived
during the 1700s. Many poets in the 18th century lived very long
lives, such as Jonathan Swift,
William Wordsworth and Goethe; while others, such as
Robert Burns, Lord
Byron and John Keats, had a much shorter time on this earth.
